PA Home Insurance is Heating Up!

 

We must say, the winter months have been pretty mild so far! However, that does not mean the cold is not bound to come. As a homeowner, you may be wondering how to heat up your home without increasing your heating bill. While this may seem impossible, it is actually pretty easy- almost as easy as saving on your PA home insurance (which we will get to later!)

Here are 5 ways to save on your heating bill this season:

#1: Set your thermostat. Changing the temperature will reflect on your bill. Keep it set at a happy-medium. If you decide to blast the heat, at least be sure to turn it off while you are out during the day or away.

#2: Invest in a space heater. Purchasing a space heater for your bedroom or the kitchen is much cheaper than turning up the thermostat.

#3: Insulate your attic. When is the last time you insulated your attic or other rooms that are not in use?

#4: Close off rooms that are not in use. Have a spare bedroom that is not in use? Close the door! Only open up rooms that are in use.

#5: Buy an electric blanket. Turn down the heat and turn on the blanket! This is a great way to stay toasty warm while you relax and watch television on the couch.
